Move your Shopify data between stores, or to and from a file
Choose the products, collections, pages and files you need. HyperSync writes them into another store you own, or into an archive you can download and import back later. Run it again any time — it updates what is already there instead of making a second copy of everything.
Nothing is added to your theme, so Liquid, Hydrogen and headless stores all work the same way.
How it works
Standing up a staging store, cloning a storefront for another market, moving to a new store, or handing a catalogue to a client — HyperSync does not need to know why. The steps are the same.
Pair the two stores
Install HyperSync on both. One store shows a pairing code; paste it into the other. Either store can be the source, so you can copy back the other way later without pairing again.
Choose what to copy
Pick whole resource types, or individual collections and products. Anything they depend on is pulled in for you, and the full expanded list is shown before a single item moves.
Run it, then run it again
The first run copies. Every run after that updates what it already created, so refreshing the second store from the first does not leave you with two of everything.
Export a store to a file, and import it back
Export any selection to a single archive file, download it, and import it back later — into the same store or a different one. It is how you keep a copy before a risky bulk edit, and how you hand a catalogue to someone you cannot give access to your store. One store is enough; a pair is not required.
Exports run in the background
A large export does not fail because a browser tab gave up waiting. The job runs, and you get a download link when it is finished. Files are stored in the EU.
Images stay in the store they came from
An archive records image URLs, not the images themselves, which is what keeps it small and fast to write. It also means an archive is not a standalone backup: if the store that exported it goes away, those images go with it.
An import is checked before it is applied
Archives carry a version. A file written by a newer version of HyperSync is refused with an explanation rather than half-written into your store.
What copies, and what nobody can copy
Shopify does not let any app write certain kinds of data. Better to read that here than to discover it halfway through a migration. Both lists below are generated from the same rules the app itself warns you with, so this page cannot promise something the product does not do.
HyperSync copies
ProductsCopies, with 5 caveats
Images are re-uploaded, so they get new URLs on the destination store.
A product's videos and 3D models are not copied, and are named in the run report. Its images are.
A product image the source store was still processing when the copy ran is left out and named in the run report. Re-run to pick it up.
Products are published only to sales channels the destination store actually has.
Custom fields are added and updated, but one that exists only on the destination is left alone.
CollectionsCopies, with 2 caveats
Automated collections copy their rules, not their contents. Membership is recalculated on the destination.
Custom fields are added and updated, but one that exists only on the destination is left alone.
FilesCopies, with 2 caveats
Images are re-uploaded, so they get new URLs on the destination store.
Files are fetched from the source store while the copy runs — including when an archive is imported later — so the original must still be online at that moment.
LocationsCopies, with 2 caveats
A deactivated location is recreated as active on the destination.
A fulfillment service's own location is not recreated. Install the same fulfillment app on the destination and it will be matched by name.
PagesCopies, with a caveat
Custom fields are added and updated, but one that exists only on the destination is left alone.
BlogsCopies, with a caveat
Custom fields are added and updated, but one that exists only on the destination is left alone.
ArticlesCopies, with 3 caveats
An article keeps its author's name, but is no longer linked to a staff account.
An article's featured image is not copied.
Custom fields are added and updated, but one that exists only on the destination is left alone.
URL redirectsCopies in full
Metafield definitionsCopies, with 2 caveats
Shopify's own category metafield definitions cannot be copied - they may need adding on the destination.
Shopify's standard metafield definitions are enabled rather than recreated.
Metaobject definitionsCopies, with a caveat
Metaobject definitions belonging to another app are skipped.
MetaobjectsCopies, with 2 caveats
Metaobject definitions belonging to another app are skipped.
A link buried inside a rich-text or JSON metaobject field still points at the original store.
Navigation menusCopies, with a caveat
A menu that links to Shopify's own pages — customer account pages, for instance — is left alone on the destination.
Inventory levelsCopies, with 3 caveats
Setting stock levels on a live store competes with real sales happening at the same time.
Stock levels copy across. Their history does not.
Stock held at a fulfillment service's own location is not copied. Install the same fulfillment app on the destination store and it will be.
No app can copy
Inventory adjustment history
Shopify generates the adjustment ledger from writes; it cannot be authored. A restored store shows the restore, not the original history.
Customer passwords
Never exposed by the API. Customers moved to another store have to reset.
Gift card codes
Codes cannot be read back out of a store once issued.
Original order and customer dates
The creation date cannot be set on an order, a draft order or a customer, so copies date to the day they were copied rather than to the original.
Orders older than 60 days
Readable only with Shopify's approved access to all orders, which is granted per app and per use case.
Payment and gateway history
A refund record can be recreated; the money movement behind it cannot.

Support that does not keep office hours
HyperSync has a support assistant built into the app. It answers only from the coverage rules above — the same ones the app warns you with before a run — so it cannot tell you something the product does not do.
When it has no source for an answer, it says so instead of guessing, and hands you the report form on the same screen — which reaches a person, who replies to your store’s contact address within 24 hours. An app that is confidently wrong about what it copies is worse than one that says “I don’t know”.
Available at any hour
The assistant is in the app 24 hours a day, seven days a week — no queue, no ticket, no waiting for an office in another timezone to open. Ask it at 3am on a Sunday mid-migration and it answers.
It answers from the rules, or not at all
It is given the coverage list above and nothing else — no general Shopify knowledge, no marketing copy. Every answer has to cite one of those entries, and our code drops it to “I don’t know” before you see it if it cannot. The model is not asked to police itself.
A person replies within 24 hours
Anything the assistant cannot answer goes to a person through the report form on the same screen, and we reply to your store’s contact address within 24 hours. Reaching a person is never behind the paywall — it works on the trial, and it works after it expires.
The assistant is AI-generated and labelled as such in the app. To answer, the text of your question goes to OpenAI in the United States — nothing else does, and it is the only part of HyperSync that leaves the EU. How we handle it.
Pricing
Priced per store pair or per store — never by your order volume, and never with a cap on how many items a job may move. Growing should not cost you more to copy the same catalogue.
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You can move up to 50 items during the trial — enough to try it on a small slice of your own store before paying anything. Metafield and metaobject definitions are copied free — they don't count toward your trial.
Store pairs
$19per pair, per month
Copy between two linked stores, in either direction.
- Plans for 1, 3 or 10 pairs
- One price covers both directions
- Unlimited runs, export and import included
Single store
$12per store, per month
Export and import on one store. No pairing, no second store.
- Archive a store to a file
- Import a file back
- No second store needed
One-time migration
$12once, for seven days
One pair, unlimited copying, for a job that happens once.
- Cheaper than a month's subscription
- One pair, seven days
- Purchasable once per pair
A pair is two linked stores, and one subscription covers copying in both directions — you pay once for the pair, not once per direction. Every plan includes the same 24-hour support: there is no tier that buys you a faster reply, and the bug-report form works even on an expired trial.
Questions people ask first
What does HyperSync do?
HyperSync moves Shopify store data: between two stores you own, or out to an archive file and back again. You choose what to move — products, collections, pages, files, metafields — and it writes them where you point it. People use it to set up a staging store, clone a storefront for another market, move to a new store, or keep a copy before a big edit.
Can I copy products from one Shopify store to another?
Yes. Products copy with their variants, options and images, together with the collections they belong to. Images are re-uploaded and get new URLs on the destination. Smart collection rules are copied and membership is recalculated there, so a collection arrives correct rather than frozen at the moment it was copied.
Will running a copy twice create duplicate products?
No. HyperSync records which item on the target came from which item on the source, so a second run updates those rather than creating new ones. If something already exists with a matching handle or SKU, it is updated and reported to you.
What Shopify data cannot be copied?
Gift cards, payment settings, staff accounts and other apps' data cannot be written by any Shopify app — the Admin API offers no way to create them. Inventory quantity history is the same. The full list is on this page, generated from the app's own rules.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days on any plan, with a limit of 50 items across the whole trial rather than per run. That is enough to try it on a small slice of your own store. Metafield and metaobject definitions are copied free — they don't count toward your trial. Every feature works during the trial; only the total is capped.
Do I need two stores to use HyperSync?
No. With two stores you copy directly between them. With one, you export your selection to an archive file and import it back whenever you need it — the same engine either way. Keeping a file before a risky bulk edit is a common reason to use it on a single store.
Can I export my Shopify store to a file?
Yes. Any selection can be exported to a versioned archive and downloaded. Images are recorded as links rather than copied into the file, which keeps it small — so an archive is a way to move a store, not a standalone backup of one.
Does HyperSync copy orders and customers?
Not yet. Orders and customers require Shopify's protected customer data approval, and an order's creation date cannot be set through the API, so copied orders would carry the wrong dates. We would rather leave them out than copy them wrong.
Does it work with headless and Hydrogen stores?
Yes. HyperSync uses only Shopify's Admin API. It installs nothing into your theme and nothing into your storefront, so a Liquid theme, a Hydrogen storefront and a fully headless build all behave exactly the same way.
What support do I get, and how fast?
Both halves are 24 hours. The support assistant is inside the app around the clock — there are no office hours and no ticket queue, so a question at 3am on a Sunday gets an answer then. Anything it cannot answer reaches a person with one click, and we reply to your store's contact address within 24 hours. Reaching a human is never behind the paywall: the report form works during the trial and keeps working after it expires.
Is the support assistant just a chatbot that makes things up?
No, and the difference is structural rather than a matter of tuning. It is given only HyperSync's own coverage rules — the same list published on this page — and no general Shopify knowledge at all. Every answer must cite one of those entries, and the citation is re-checked in our code afterwards, so an answer with no source is replaced by an abstention before you see it. It also cannot do anything: it has no ability to start, cancel or change a run. Answers are labelled as AI-generated in the app.
Does my support question leave the EU?
The text of the question does, and nothing else. HyperSync's database, its export archives and its servers are all in the EU, but the support assistant is answered by OpenAI in the United States — the one part of the app that is not EU-resident, and it is listed as such in the subprocessor table on our privacy page. Your store's data is not sent with the question. If you would rather not use it, the bug-report form goes straight to a person and involves no model at all.
Where is my store data stored, and for how long?
Your store's data stays in the EU: the database is in Frankfurt, export archives sit in EU-jurisdiction object storage, and the servers are in the EU. The one exception is the in-app support assistant — if you ask it a question, that question's text goes to OpenAI in the United States to answer it, and nothing else goes with it. Copied data is deleted 30 days after a job finishes, and everything for a store is deleted when you uninstall — Shopify sends the erasure request 48 hours later and we act on it.
